A drill bit creates holes in materials, while a driver bit is designed to drive screws and other fasteners. Think of drill bits as hole creators and driver bits as screw turners.
Select a drill bit slightly smaller than your screw's main shaft (not including threads). For wood screws, use a bit 1/64" to 1/32" smaller than the screw's diameter.
