Metal injection molding (MIM) is a process utilized for creating complex shapes and components that are difficult to achieve through traditional methods. TEAM MFG can economically produce complex shapes beyond the capability of conventional Powdered Metallurgy. Metal injection molding is capable of creating components with features such as ID/OD threads and undercuts. It can also produce dense components with a low particle size. The combination of fine grain size and high density gives MIM components properties matching those of their wrought counter parts.
For high-performance components such as electronic components and structural injection molded parts, metal injection molding is commonly used.
